IVT Veteran Honored With Induction to Florida Inventors Hall of Fame - BLOG

Roberta Goode will be inducted into the Florida Inventors Hall of Fame later this fall

Congratulations to Roberta Goode!

On behalf of the IVT Network staff and Editorial Advisory Board, a sincere congratulations to Roberta Goode on her upcoming induction to the Florida Inventors Hall of Fame. Roberta is one of seven Florida Inventors whose discoveries are saving lives, transforming the environment, and creating new technologies, and she will be inducted as part of the 2021 Class this fall.

Roberta currently serves on the IVT Editorial Advisory Board and has been a past Speaker Of The Year for her participation in our Validation Week conferences. In addition, Roberta serves on the faculty of the University of Miami College of Engineering. She is a Florida native and alumna of University of Miami. Her breakthrough patents in valve designs for vascular catheters significantly advanced the field of minimally-invasive cardiac procedures and diagnostic procedures, and improved patient outcomes by preventing blood loss and reducing surgical risk. The designs were incorporated into the Cordis AVANTI Sheath Introducer which continues to be used today. She holds four U.S. patents.

IVT Involvement

Roberta Goode has authored article in the Journal of Validation Technology and Journal of GXP Compliance. In addition she drove efforts to create the IVT’s Medical Device Validation Handbook, which includes important how-to information and engaging case studies, to aide device manufacturers improve the quality of life for customers and their patients. Roberta has also been a regular guest on the Voices in Validation podcast, lending her expertise to more than half a dozen episodes.

About the Florida Inventors Hall of Fame

The Florida Inventors Hall of Fame (FIHF) recognizes and commends Florida inventors whose achievements have advanced the quality of life for Floridians, the state and the nation. Founded in 2013 and located at the University of South Florida Research Park in Tampa, FIHF was recognized by Florida Senate Resolution 1756 in April of 2014.
