INTRODUCTION A survey was conducted at The Institute of Validation Technology's (IVT) 13th Annual Computer and Software Validation Conference in San Diego, CA in April 2012 to identify the most important competencies for computer and software validation (CSV) project team members. This article, adresses the question, “What are the five most important skills you require of a person performing computer and software validation?” The response to that question revealed that the most important skill is communication.
